kitchen crush {clean lines+perfect pieces}

When I saw this kitchen I gasped. The clean lines and organic accessories are the perfect pair. Not to mention the beautiful tiling behind the stove, interesting doorway arch and the unique choice of seating options. Sigh...

Oh, cream and soft caramel, what a lovely and welcoming color combination you are. It works in any style home and any room in the house.

inspired style {cool + feminine}

I have looked to Gwyneth Paltrow as a style icon since she graced the red carpet in that stunning pink Ralph Lauren dress. So I was thrilled to see her on the cover of the current vogue and ate up the whole article and the editorial photos of her. This one was my favorite, as she is in her own clothes and it speaks so well to the cool but feminine style she always exudes.

It is those same qualities that make me crazy about this room. It is classic but with a twist that I don't think I would ever get bored of.

Is there a style icon that influences your interior style?

fashioning interiors {Emerson Made}

One of the highlights of my weekend was discovering (I am sure I am the last one) that Emerson Made launched a clothing line. As with everything else she makes the line is sheer perfection--fabulous colors and playful twists on classics. I seriously want each and every piece!

happy {simple outdoor} weekend

From my lack of postings this week it is probably apparent that I have been pretty busy. I am so looking forward to a quite weekend enjoying the great outdoors, starting with a camping excursion tonight. I just love the simplicity of this outdoor area and would love to be entertaining here this weekend as well.

And what genius outdoor lighting! Happy weekend all.

craving {canopy bed + a fireplace}

Is there anything more luxurious and dramatic than an iron canopy bed by a fireplace? I think not!

serene gray + hydraganeas

Wow, what a day (week and month too actually) it has been! Feel like I have been on overdrive and planning event after event. I am in need of a little escape and would love to have come home to work to a home full of serene gray and dried hydrangeas.

Instead I am coming home to a house that needs to be cleaned and will be spending my evening arranging flowers for an event tomorrow.

powder blue + classic style

After a long week, the simple combination of powder blue with classic style is incredibly appealing. The whisper soft hint of color is both soothing and refreshing and I find great great comfort in its pairing with traditional motifs and pieces.

eye candy {moment of rest}

This is the first moment that I have had to breath today, as I am planning two back to back events tomorrow. I am definitely in need of a glass of wine and a relaxing evening in this frilly bedroom.

I hope to be able to check in again soon. Hope you are all having a great and thank you for stopping by!

soothing symmetry

There is something soothing about the order that comes from symmetrical rooms. It is a very appealing and chaos free look. I especially love the cozy feeling that comes from just a few items (a piece of artwork, shelf styling of chair style) are not the exactly mirror images of each other.

modern driftwood

I never think of driftwood home decor as modern but these pieces from bleu nature are just that and more. Although rather pricey the offerings are well crafted and will definitely make a statement in any home.

Particularly fond of the driftwood mixed with acrylic and I pretty much NEED the chandelier of slices.

a little bit country

I am not typically a fan of county style but I just love this home, especially the way all the fabrics work together and the refreshing palette.

retail inspiration {for the home}

I don't typically look to commercial interior design for inspiration but restaurants and retails stores really can spark an idea or palette that can translates well into a residential space. Neapolitan, a retail store outside of Chicago, is one of my favorites to visit when I go home. I always thought it was just because I loved running my fingers over all the stunning designer clothes but it also most likely because it is incredibly well designed by Cindy Galvin of Bardes Interiors and Maze Home.

I love the vintage vogue covers and quatrefoil studding at the cash register.

And what brilliant covering for the swinging doors.

Not to mention the soothing coral and slate color palette that perfectly mimics the pucci dress on display. Yes, all very inspiring ideas that could easily and beautifully work in a home.

beautiful clutter {home tour}

The beautiful clutter of this home is incredibly welcoming and unpretentious. The simple styling, touch of eclecticism and the cool color pops make this home a new favorite of mine.

playing catch up

Wow, what an absolutely incredible but exhausting long weekend full of camping, great friends, fireworks, an amazing concert and two white water trips. It has left me with a long to do list to catch up on today but really love to just curl up with a good book on this swinging bench

Be back later after a few cups of coffee!

happy 4th!

Very busy today getting ready for an event tonight but wanted to share the photos from this adorable campground wedding photo shoot. Wouldn't this be a perfect concept for an independence day bash?!

I am now craving smores! Have a wonderful long weekend.

bold color + calming neutrals

Two of my absolutely favorite things perfectly blended in this stunning home by Kay Douglass, as featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. The use of just one bold color against a neutral backdrop makes a huge impact and instantly adds energy to a home.

If you could choose one color for your home--what would it be?

loving {lily of the valley} wallpaper

Busy day today, but they all seem that way lately! This lovely lily of the valley wallpaper provided my eyes the perfect respite in the midst of the craziness. I also love the styling of the flowers in front of the paper.
