{subtle} patriotic chic

Yes, I am already dreaming about the weekend and what to wear to celebrate the Fourth in style. I think all these pieces from the Thread Social Resort line would be perfect. I love that they are not the obvious red, white and blue choices but all have a subtle Americana vibe.

gracious {designer} glamour

I am always fascinated by the dwellings of interior designers. They are constantly bombarded by new inspiration and I just love seeing what trends they choose to replicate in their homes. I love the glamorous apartment of Paula Caravelli, of Paul and Martha Design.
The metallic gold coffee table, bold rug and stunning settee create an impeccable living space.

I am especially intrigued by the graphic artwork in the bathroom.

prepping the {picnic} table

I have not done a ton of outdoor entertaining at my current abode so when I decided to have an impromptu casual dinner for friends I looked at my very bare picnic table and knew something had to be done...something quick and on a budget. So this is the blank slate...
I searched the house and found some left over fabric that I had purchased from pottery barn (really!) and then gathered up some candles, my herb pot and snipped a few lilacs from my bush and without spending a cent, voila. Nothing too fancy but definitely an improvement...

craving color

It finally feels like summer here in Jackson (it snowed last week!) and I am thrilled to be able to finally pull out my warm weather clothing! I only wish that I could add just a little bit more bold color to my wardrobe with one of these amazing missoni pieces.

color + pattern

One of my first etsy crushes was Plum Cushion. Shop owner, Melanie, creates amazing pillows using designer fabrics and sells them for very reasonable prices. I was recently discovered that she write an incredibly inspirational blog that among other things features DIY projects and photos of her home. It comes as no surprise that she has impeccable taste and a beyond gorgeous home full of lively color and bold pattern...

Just the pick me up I needed to get through the rest of the day!

fashioning interiors {carolina herrara resort 2011}

Oh Carolina, another fabulous collection full of frills, femininity and to die for glamour. I think resort 2011 may be my favorite yet with the impeccable color and cut choices I only wish I had a black tie affair to attend. Something just so magical about and every piece...

eye candy {peppered with perfection}

This neutral space is full to the brim with some of my favorite design elements (leaning mirror, driftwood, lovely glassware decor, crisp white sofa and the mix of sleek and rustic). All of these elements are melded together perfectly.

Is there an element of this room that stands out to you? I feel as though my eye constantly moves around the room--a quality I love in interior design.

sunday sponsor {ruby plaza}

On the hunt for the perfect vintage set of tea cups or perfume bottles? Then Ruby Plaza should be your first stop with its seeming endless inventory. Ruby Plaza is home to individually-owned shops offering home decor, jewelry, fashion & accessories, and handcrafted items. After a couple hours of scouring the site these would be my picks:

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

eat-in kitchen {industrial chic}

Industrial fixtures can come across as cold and stark and it is difficult to find the right rooms for the look to work in well. The kitchen is one space that can take a sleek industrial look especially when mixed with other styles, such as vintage:

{oscar de la Renta+ lee jofa}

If you haven't already heard Lee Jofa has teamed up with Oscar de la Renta for a line for summer fabrics. The line will be officially unveiled this evening at the Oscar de la Renta store in New York City. All I know is that the window display featuring a few of the fabrics is making me quite confident that it will be a stunning collection.

And those necklaces...pretty divine as well!

etsy crush {jill rosenwald}

It has been a very long time since I have had an etsy crush and that is purely because I have hardly had time to pursue lately! After seeing these lovely pieces from jill rosenwald I have decided that I really need to make the time. I cannot believe this gal out of Boston makes such fabulous creations by hand. Love their whimsical motifs and unique color stories. I know I would be proud to use any of these when entertaining!
Any shops that you are crushing on these days?

home crush {ravishing retreat}

This home is the epitome of casual chic, my ideal style for a weekend retreat. The outdoor space is amazing and I am always a sucker for paper lanterns and beautiful work spaces.

the great outdoors

When you live somewhere as beautiful as Jackson it is hard not to constantly want to be out enjoying the fresh air. The sun shining this morning is leaving me hopeful that this weekend I will be able to just that! I love outdoor spaces that have been given the same design attention as any interior rooms.

I especially love the addition of unique light fixtures and defining the space with billowy curtains.

These spaces from interior designer, Kristen Hutchins, are wonderful inspiration for this look.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend enjoying the great outdoors.

cheap(er) chic: pillow inspired palettes

Woke up this morning to yet another gray sky and pouring rain--not exactly the weather one hopes for in June. It was quite painful to once again be bundling up in the muted colors of my fall wardrobe and would much rather be wearing the color palettes of madelines weinrib's cheerful suzani pillows.

relax + rejuvenate

Whew! This week has been moving at a speedy little clip. I am definitely in need of an evening of relaxation and rejuvenation. So time for a glass of wine and cheering on the Blackhawks. Now if only I was also ending my day here...

Love the simplicity, absence of color and mix of soft and clean lines.

There are not many things more perfect than the pairing of white subway tile and simple design in a kitchen. Always fresh, lovely and inviting...

Jason Wu's resort 2011 line is a perfect example of why sophisticated silhouettes and classic style will never go out of fashion. The line is perfectly playful and provides amazing inspiration for everyone room in the house.

loving {cool white dining rooms}

If I didn't love Italian cuisine (particularly anything with red sauce) so much I would most certainly have a cool white dining area. Here are just two reasons why...

cheap(er) chic: gingham + gold

When I was in college my style would have been best described as preppy but as I have gotten older (and since I have lived in Wyoming) I have tried my best to pull away . To be honest, I have a hard time doing this in the warmer months. Thankfully, I have finally found a combination that satisfies my preppy tendencies while being more sophisticated--gingham print mixed with classic gold pieces.
